Setup Outlook for Windows

Email account setup in Microsoft Outlook 2013/16 (SMTP/IMAP/POP3)

Email clients, like Outlook, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in Microsoft Outlook 2013/16.

Step 1. Open Outlook, select tab File > Add Account

Step 2. Check the option E-mail Account and fill in the corresponding fields:

  • Your Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • E-Mail Address: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (Make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).

Once all the fields are filled, click Next

The above step may fail to find the correct configuration automatically. In this case, please proceed to setup the account manually.

In order to set up your email account in Outlook manually please complete the first step, which is described above and then follow the instructions below:

Step 2. Check the option Manual setup or additional server types > Next

Step 3. Select POP or IMAP and click on Next.

Step 4. Fill out Your Name, Email Address, select Account Type – IMAP or POP3.

Incoming and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’).

User Name – full email address, and Password – password for this mail account.

Option Require logon using Secure Password Notification (SPA) needs to be unchecked

Step 5. Once done, click on More Settings in the lower right corner of the window.

In the tab Outgoing Server checkmark the option My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication > Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Step 6. In the tab Advanced configure port settings as follows:

  • IMAP – port 993, SSL
  • POP3 – port 995, checkmark the option This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
  • SMTP – port 587, Auto

Step 7. Once all is done, click OK to close the window and then Next to test server connection.

Setup Thunderbird for Windows

Email account setup in Thunderbird (SMTP/IMAP/POP3)

Email clients, like Thunderbird, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in Thunderbird.

Step 1. Go to File > New > Existing Mail Account

Step 2. In the Mail Account Setup window enter the following details:

  • Your Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • E-Mail Address: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (Make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).

Once all the fields are filled, click Continue

Step 3. If setup fails for some reason (lack of autoconfig or autodiscovery setup being one, see here to set it up), please try to follow the steps from scratch or click on Manual Config to configure Thunderbird manually.

Step 4. Fill out the following details:

  • Incoming: IMAP, Server hostname – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Port – 993, SSL – SSL/TLS, Authentication – Normal password
  • Incoming: POP3, Server hostname – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Port – 995, SSL – SSL/TLS, Authentication – Normal password
  • Outgoing: SMTP, Server hostname – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Port – 587, SSL – STARTTLS, Authentication – Normal password

Step 5. Click Done to finish setting up Thunderbird.

Setup Mail for Mac

Email account setup in Mac OSX Mail (SMTP/IMAP)

Email clients, like Mail in Mac OSX, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in Mac OSX ‘Mail’.

Step 1. Go to Mail > Add Account

Step 2. In the Choose a Mail account provider window check the option Other Mail Account

Click Continue

Step 3. In the Add a Mail Account window enter the following details:

  • Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • Email Address: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).

Once all the fields are filled, click Sign In

Step 4. If setup fails for some reason (lack of autoconfig or autodiscovery setup being one, see here to set it up), please try to follow the steps from scratch or configure the settings manually by entering the following details:

  • Email Address: your full Email address.
  • User Name: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (Make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).
  • Account Type: IMAP
  • Incoming Mail Server: manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’)
  • Outgoing Mail Server: manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’)

Once all the fields are filled, click Sign In

Setup Thunderbird for Mac

Email account setup in Thunderbird for Mac OSX (SMTP/IMAP/POP3)

Email clients, like Thunderbird in Mac OSX, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in Thunderbird for Mac.

Step 1. Go to Options (three striped horizontal tab) > New Message > Existing Mail Account

Step 2. In the Mail Account Setup window enter the following details:

  • Your Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • E-Mail Address: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).

Once all the fields are filled, click Continue

Step 5. Click Done to finish setting up Thunderbird.

Setup Email for Android

Email account setup in Email app for Android (SMTP/IMAP)

Email clients, like ‘Email’ in Android, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in ‘Email’ for Android M.

Open Email app.

Enter your Email address, tap Next

Step 2. Choose Personal (IMAP) as Account Type

Step 3. Enter Password.

Once the field is filled, tap Next

Step 4. In the Incoming server settings page, fill out the following details:

Incoming IMAP: Server – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Port – 993, Security type – SSL/TLS

Once all the fields are filled, tap Next

Step 5. In the Outgoing server settings page, fill out the following details:

Outgoing SMTP: Server – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Port – 587, Security type – STARTTLS

Once all the fields are filled, tap Next

Step 6. Select the desired options and tap Next.

Step 7. Enter a name for your account and tap Next.

Step 8. That’s it! Your account is now set up.

Setup Mail for iOS

Email account setup in Mail app for iOS (SMTP/IMAP)

Email clients, like ‘Mail’ in Apple iOS, allow you to easily check your emails without Webmail (web-interface). This tutorial will help you to configure your Email accounts in ‘Mail’ for iOS 9.

Step 1. Open Settings app.

Step 5. In the New Account window enter the following details:

  • Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • Email: your full Email address.
  • Password: password for your Email account (make sure you do not have blank spaces in it).
  • Description: Any information to describe your account

Once all the fields are filled, tap Next

Step 6. In the succeeding New Account window enter the following details:

Choose IMAP

  • Name: the name you would like the recipients of your emails to see.
  • Email: your full Email address.
  • Description: Any information to describe your account

Incoming Mail Server: Host Name – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Username – your full Email address, Password – password for your Email account

Outgoing Mail Server: Host Name – manage.mailgiga.com (Use your own mailserver hostname instead of ‘manage.mailgiga.com’), Username – your full Email address, Password – password for your Email account

Once all the fields are filled, tap Next

Step 7. Select the desired options and tap Save.
