Supported email clients
Almost all the modern email clients which support IMAP, SMTP or POP3. Together, these three standard protocols are supported by the majority of all modern email clients. There are help articles for configuring the recommended email clients below.
Recommended email clients
- Mozilla Thunderbird – Free, open source email client for Windows, Mac & Linux.
- Microsoft Outlook for Windows (2013 & later).
- Mac OSX Mail.
- Android Email app.
- iOS Mail app.
Autoconfiguration will enable your users to automatically configure their email clients with just their username and password (in Thunderbird).
To enable this feature for domain.com
, add DNS A record autoconfig.domain.com
pointing to your server’s IP address.
Mailcheap mail server details
Incoming server settings IMAP
- Server hostname:
example.mymailcheap.com
(Use your own mailserver hostname!)

- Require SSL: Yes, SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
For backward compatibility, IMAP over STARTTLS is available on port 143.
Incoming server settings POP
- Server hostname:

- Require SSL: Yes, SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
For backward compatibility, POP over STARTTLS is available on port 110.
Outgoing server settings SMTP
- Server hostname:

587

- Require SSL: Yes, STARTTLS/TLS
- Require Authentication: Yes, Normal password
